Tim Berners-Lee is often cited as creating the Internet, but the technology involved in it has been in development since the 1960s. With this in mind, he began to create his first prototype called ENQUIRE. He suggested using hypertext, a language used for sharing text electronically, to do the job. It soon became clear that they needed a means of sharing information electronically. His time at CERN required him to share information between researchers across the world. In 1980, He began working at CERN in Switzerland. After his time at Oxford, he started working for a printing firm in Plessy, Poole. At Oxford, he successfully completed his physics degree, gaining a first-class degree in 1976. He completed his A-levels at Emanuel School, after which he went to Queens College, Oxford. Tim Berners-Lee was born on the 8th of June 1955 in London. Early years of the World Wide Web creator Without Tim’s groundbreaking work, all websites, including our own, simply could not exist. The World Wide Web has revolutionized the way we communicate, work, and play to even a few decades ago. Today the world has never been so interconnected, and it has never been easier to access and share information.
